Sensitive Information. We do not process sensitive information.

Feedback and Support Data. When you contact us for support or submit feedback through the app, we collect:

  • Contact Information: Your email address (required to respond to your feedback)
  • Feedback Content: The message you submit and any screenshots or information you provide
  • Technical Context: Anonymized device ID, app version, device model, iOS version
  • Usage Context: Country/region, app purchase status, and relevant app settings to help diagnose issues

This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry and improve our Services. Your feedback is kept private and confidential.

Payment Data. We do not collect any data related to the process of payment. All payment data is stored and managed by Apple App Store. You may find their privacy notice at: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/data/en/app-store/.

Application Data and Device Permissions

Our mobile application requires access to certain device features and permissions to provide its core functionality. The app will not function without Location Services enabled. Below are the specific permissions we may request and the data we collect when you grant them:

  • Location Services (Required). We collect precise location data from your device's GPS to provide speed tracking, distance measurement, and location-based services. This data is processed locally on your device for core speedometer functionality. Location data is essential for our Services and the app cannot operate without this permission.
  • Motion and Fitness (Optional). When granted, we access barometer data from your device's sensors to improve altitude readings and enhance location accuracy. This permission is optional but improves the precision of our Services.
  • Apple Music (Optional). We collect song and album information from your Apple Music library to display artwork and metadata within the app interface. We also access music playback controls to allow you to control music from within our app. This data remains on your device.
  • Notifications (Optional). We may send push notifications for various app communications and user engagement features. You can control notification preferences in your device settings.
  • Background App Refresh (Optional). When enabled, we continue to collect location data when the app is running in the background, allowing for continuous tracking during trips. This data is processed locally on your device.
  • Mobile Device Data. We automatically collect device information including your mobile device ID, model, manufacturer, operating system version, device and application identification numbers, and hardware specifications. This technical data helps us ensure compatibility and troubleshoot issues.
  • Usage and Consumption Data. We may share consumption data with Apple through the Send Consumption Information API to enhance the refund process. This data includes information relevant to Apple's review of refund requests, as outlined in Apple's Privacy Policy. Apple retains this data only as long as necessary to fulfill this purpose and may share it with service providers who act on their behalf, partners, or others at the user's direction, but not for marketing purposes.

Information automatically collected

In Short: Some information — such as your device characteristics — is collected automatically when you visit our Services.

We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Services. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Services, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.

The information we collect includes:

  • Log and Usage Data. Log and usage data is service-related, diagnostic, usage, and performance information our servers automatically collect when you access or use our Services and which we record in log files.
  • Device Data. We collect device data such as information about your computer, phone, tablet, or other device you use to access the Services.

Third-Party Service Providers. We may receive information from our analytics and technical service providers to help us measure app performance, usage trends, and technical metrics. This data is collected through our Services in accordance with their own privacy policies. A complete list of the third-party service providers that operate in our Services can be found in Appendix A below.

This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our application(s), for troubleshooting, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.

All personal information that you provide to us must be true, complete, and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes to such personal information.

App Store Privacy Label Disclosure

In accordance with Apple's App Store privacy requirements, we provide the following disclosure of data collection practices. All data collected is not linked to your identity and cannot be used to personally identify you.

Types of Data Collected (Not Linked to You):

  • Location Data: We access your device's location to provide speed tracking and related features. This data is processed locally on your device and used only for core app functionality.
  • Identifiers: We collect anonymized device and app identifiers for analytics and app functionality purposes. These identifiers cannot be used to personally identify you.
  • Usage Data: We collect information about how you use the app, including features used and app performance metrics, to improve our Services.
  • Diagnostics: We collect technical diagnostic information to identify and fix bugs, crashes, and performance issues.
  • Other Data: We may collect additional technical data necessary for app functionality and improvement, such as device specifications and system configuration.

Data Usage: All collected data is used solely to:

  • Provide core speedometer functionality including speed tracking, trip recording, and location-based features
  • Improve app performance, fix bugs, and enhance user experience
  • Identify and fix technical issues, crashes, and performance problems
  • Analyze app usage patterns to develop new features and improvements
  • Ensure app security and prevent misuse of our Services

We do not claim ownership over your personal data or device settings. You retain control over your personal information as described throughout this Privacy Policy.

Local vs. Cloud Data Processing

Local Processing (On Your Device): Most of your sensitive data is processed locally on your device and never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to share it.

  • Location Data: Your GPS location, speed calculations, and trip data are processed entirely on your device. This data stays on your device unless you choose to export or share trip information.
  • Apple Music Data: Song and album information is accessed and displayed locally. This data remains on your device.
  • Speed Calculations: All speedometer functionality, including speed tracking and distance measurements, is computed locally on your device.

Data Transmitted to Third-Party Services: We do not operate our own servers. Only limited, anonymized technical data is transmitted directly to third-party service providers.

  • Analytics Data: Anonymized usage statistics and app performance metrics are sent to TelemetryDeck (EU-based) to help us improve the app.
  • Error Reports: Crash reports and diagnostic data are sent to Sentry (US-based) to help us fix bugs and improve stability.
  • Subscription Data: Purchase verification data is sent to RevenueCat (US-based) to manage App Store subscriptions.
  • Feedback Data: When you submit feedback, your email and message are sent directly to us via email or our support API.

This local-first approach ensures your most sensitive data (location, trips, personal usage patterns) remains private and under your control.

Children's Privacy

Age Requirements: Our Services are intended for users who are at least 13 years old or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction to use mobile applications, whichever is higher.

Collection from Children: We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information as quickly as possible.

Apple vs. Developer Responsibilities: Apple, not us, is responsible for App Store-related data processing, payment handling, and platform-level analytics. We are responsible for data processing within our app as described throughout this Privacy Policy.

2. HOW DO WE PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?

In Short: We process your information to provide and improve our speedometer Services, ensure app security and stability, provide customer support, and comply with legal obligations.

  • If disclosure is required to comply with a subpoena, warrant, court order, or rules of the court relating to the production of records

How to Manage Your Data and Permissions

iOS System Permissions: You control most data collection through iOS Settings:

  • To manage Location Services: Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Speedometer and choose "Never", "Ask Next Time", or "While Using App"
  • To manage Motion & Fitness: Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Motion & Fitness > Speedometer and toggle on/off
  • To manage Apple Music: Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Media & Apple Music > Speedometer and toggle access
  • To manage Notifications: Go to Settings > Notifications > Speedometer and configure your preferences

What Happens When You Deny Permissions:

  • Location Services (Required): The app cannot function without this permission and will display a message requesting you enable it
  • Motion & Fitness: Altitude readings will be less accurate without barometer data
  • Apple Music: Music controls and artwork won't be displayed in the app
  • Notifications: You won't receive any push notifications from the app

Anonymized Analytics Data: Our app collects anonymized analytics data that cannot identify you personally. This data helps us improve the app and fix issues. Because this data is fully anonymized and necessary for app improvement:

  • It is collected automatically when you use the app
  • It cannot be linked to your identity
  • The only way to prevent this collection is to stop using the app
  • This practice is standard for most mobile applications and helps ensure app quality

To Delete All Your Data: Simply delete the app from your device. This will remove all locally stored data including trips, settings, and preferences. Anonymized analytics data that has already been transmitted cannot be deleted as it cannot be linked back to you.

In Short: Anonymized technical data may be processed in different countries by our service providers.

Our service providers operate in different regions:

  • European Union: TelemetryDeck (analytics) processes data within the EU

Important: All data shared with these services is anonymized and cannot be used to identify you personally. We do not transfer any personally identifiable information internationally. The anonymized nature of this data significantly reduces privacy risks associated with international transfers.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom (UK), please note that some service providers operate outside your region. However, since only anonymized technical data is shared, this poses minimal privacy risk to you as an individual.
